Stonechemy started on the trail, not in a workshop. Hiking through Australia's backcountry, I kept noticing colour buried underfoot, the same thing this country's ground is famous for. That curiosity led me to opal cutting, and once I started shaping rough stone into something that held light the way these landscapes do, I was hooked.

Based in Surry Hills, Sydney, I now hand-cut and polish every stone I sell. I work with boulder opal, fossilised wood, plume agate, and picture jasper.

The name is a small nod to alchemy: turning raw stone into something worth holding onto, without changing what it actually is.

Every stone I sell is loose. No settings, no jewellery. Ready for whoever wants to build something around it, or simply keep it as it is.
